Prometric exams

We have a Prometric testing facility here at Corps and you can book your test to take place after your training. Prometric are a company that provide on-line tests on behalf of many different companies. Here at Corps Business we are able to supply the tests for Apple and Adobe.

There are several levels of certification to the Apple exams and each requires a certain level of knowledge prior to taking the exam. This level of knowledge can be gained either by taking an Apple Certified course or gaining extensive experience in a working environment. Please be aware that the exams are very difficult and require an in-depth knowledge.

1. Apple Specialist Support Essential Specialist

To gain this qualification you need to pass the two hour Support Essentials exam. The three day Support Essentials course leads to this exam and provides an intense and in-depth exploration of troubleshooting on Mac OSX. It is aimed at Support specialists, technical co-ordinators, service technicians and those who support Mac OSX.

2. Apple Certified Technical Co-ordinator

Passing both the Server Essentials and Help Desk Essentials (above) exams will gain you the honour of being an Apple Certified Technical Co-ordinator.
The four day Server Essentials course is aimed at technical coordinators and entry-level system administrators, you will learn how to install and configure Mac OSX Server to provide network-based services, such as file sharing, email and printing.

3. Apple Certified Systems Administrator certification

This is the top level qualification and involves several courses and exams to enable you to build up the seven credits you need to gain the certificate.

Prior to registering for an exam you are required to have an Apple Tech ID number. Please apply for a Tech ID by following the instructions at the Apple Certifications website, http://certifications.apple.com. Once you’ve taken an Apple certification exam, you can visit the Apple Certifications website at http://certifications.apple.com to track and manage all of your Apple certifications. All exams cost: £100.00 excluding VAT.

There are three levels of certification to become an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE):

1. Single product certification

Recognises your proficiency in a single Adobe product. To qualify as an ACE, you must pass one product-specific exam. Example: ACE, InDesign CS

2. Specialist certification

Recognises your proficiency in a specific medium: print, web, or video. To become certified as a Specialist, you must pass the exams on the required products listed below.
Example: ACE Print Specialist (with passing marks on the tests for InDesign, Acrobat, and either Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator). Specialists must pass all required (R) exams and any one elective (E) within any given certification track :

3. Master certification:

Recognises your skills in terms of how they align with the Adobe product suites. To become certified as a Master, you must pass the exam for each of the products in the suite. Example: ACE, Creative Suite Master (with passing marks on the tests for Acrobat, GoLive, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop)
ACE exams are computer-delivered, closed-book tests consisting of 60 to 90 multiple-choice questions. Each exam takes one to two hours to complete, and results are given to you at the testing center immediately after you finish.

All Adobe exams cost: £92.50 excluding VAT.
